JetSMART is a Chilean low-cost airline based in Santiago, Chile. JetSMART made its formal request for an air operator certificate to the Chilean Civil Aviation Authority in January 2017, which it gained later in the year. In July 2017, JetSMART commenced operations with its first flight service from Santiago to Calama in northern Chile.
From its hub at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport, also known as Santiago International Airport. JetSMART flies to eight international destinations within Argentina, Brazil and Peru and flies domestically to 10 destinations within Chile with a fleet of 12 aircraft. JetSMART also files one international route to Lima, Peru, which it launched in early 2018 and three other international routes to Argentina, which it launched in late 2018. JetSMART has long-term plans to fly to various different destinations across South America. In July 2021, American Airlines announced a small investment in JetSMART, with agreements to allow American Airlines members of the loyalty scheme program to be able to earn miles when flying with JetSMART.
JetSMART is one of two South American airlines owned by Indigo Partners — the other being JetSMART Argentina.
Carry-on and checked baggage on board a Jetsmart flight have different requirements to follow. Measurements and dimensions can be found below.
One piece of carry-on baggage with a maximum weight of 10kg is included in your ticket fare. Carry-on baggage must not exceed maximum dimensions of 45cm x 35cm x 25cm. Any carry-on baggage that exceeds these measurements will be classed as checked baggage.
Please don't pack any prohibited items in your carry-on baggage such as liquids over 100ml. Any prohibited items will be removed and thrown away by airport security.
Checked Baggage, as well as additional carry-on baggage, can be added to your booking via the JetSMART website. Prepaid baggage must not exceed 23kg. Nor have a total dimension of more than 158 linear cm. Any baggage that is larger than these dimensions will be charged as oversized baggage.

JetSmart is a dedicated low-cost carrier and has added extra seating so that more people can fly at an even lower cost.
The airline does not offer entertainment, Wi-Fi, or onboard magazines. It is focused on cost-reduction for the customer. The basic rate enables customers to travel simply, from point A to point B, along with a small handbag. Add-on is then available for customers who require more from their fare:
You can select the seat you want at a very low cost. Secure your front row seats, emergency exits or SMART seats (rows 2 to 4) where you will have more space to enjoy the flight.
Check baggage is not included in the price, as not everyone requires it, but can be added for a small fare.
If priority boarding is important to you, you can also pay a small fee for this service.
The new and modern seats are pre-reclined and full of comfort with an ample amount of legroom.
Online and airport check-in is available for JetSmart flights. Opening and closing times vary.
Online check-in is open from 72 hours before your flight and closes 40 minutes prior. Passengers can check-in for their JetSMART flight online by visiting the JetSMART website and click check-in. In order to avoid long queues at the airport, check-in online and print your boarding pass ready to be shown at the airport.
Passengers can also check-in for their JetSMART flight by visiting a JetSMART check-in agent at the JetSMART check-in desk at the airport of departure. The airport is open between 120—40 minutes before scheduled flight departure time for domestic flights and 180—60 minutes before scheduled flight departure time before international flights.
JetSMART doesn't currently have a frequent flyer program.

This airport is owned by the Chilean government and operated by Nuevo Pudahuel since 2015. The airport has 2 passenger terminals. Terminal 1 was originally built for domestic and international flights until 2021. The new terminal now operates all international services and Terminal 1 operates all domestic flights.

On the 6th of October 2022, the first JetSMART flight from Mendoza landed at Salta airport. Operations had been suspended since March 2020 as a consequence of the Coronavirus pandemic. JetSMART will be flying 3 times a week with its 186-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
